Unchanging Consciousness – Intro to Advaita Vedanta – Part 3

Arsha Bodha Center – Swami Tadatmananda

Perceptions, thoughts, and emotions arise in your mind as vrittis and become known to you, the eternal conscious being. To observe these changing vrittis, consciousness must necessarily be unchanging, and is therefore utterly unaffected by the vrittis it reveals — like the sun is unaffected by all it shines upon.

Swami Tadatmananda is a traditionally-trained teacher of Advaita Vedanta, meditation, and Sanskrit. For more information, please see: https://www.arshabodha.org/

  1. Thank you for teaching Swami Tadatmananda! Brilliant!. It is such a blessing that you spread your teachings the way you do. I look forward to more teachings about vedanta.

  2. hmmmm….interesting….his way of teaching or explaining is rather different from other vedanta teachers….it's very refreshing….thanks a lot…))

  3. Surely our goal should be to realise the true self in our lifetime. If we do not succeed we will have to come back  and experience our karma once again.

  4. Thank you. Eckhart tolle said " Jesus said a lot of great things, but nobody got what he said except a couple of buddhists.
You clarified what he meant for me.

  5. Thank you so much for these videos, your teachings had helped me so much about life, nature & true happiness. Even though I have a luxury life & could have almost all kind of materials in the world & could travel almost anywhere in the world but I never feel completely happy. I always feel something is missing & sometimes I feel lonely and empty without any reasons. I keep searching for reasons cause I know life is more than luxury, materials and enjoyment and I'm so blessed that I found your videos. Your reaching is exactly what I need. Thank you billion times. Do you offer class for teenagers? (I have 2 teenage daughters & I know sometimes they're sad for no reasons too. They're some of the luckiest kids in the world but they still unhappy & not interesting in life. I think your teachings will help them but they're not going to watch these kinds of videos. I need to send them to your school or temple. Thank you so much again.

  6. Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge with us Swami Tadatmananda. That crystal metaphor has been nothing less then a revelation for me. Thank you Peace, Peace, Peace.

  7. Can someone pls explain how both of the following can be true simultaneously?:
    1. We are not our mind, and we are not our body. Whatever can be known to us, is external from us.

    2. We exist in nonduality, i.e. We are everything, there is no separation between anything, everything including me, is a part of the same thing.

    Thank you

  8. Consciousness is being claimed to b separate from body, how can it be?. Consciousness is being consideres eternal, unborn, and Divine.!!??
