  1. Dear AI Aficionados
Can you be so kind as to help me figure out a few things as a newcomer?
    1) What are the best AI assistant options today, paid, for helping me to research a subject – let’s say AGI?
So for example let’s say I ask the AI assistant to make me a list of the most relevant, respected, experts currently on the subject of AGI and mental health.
And then ask for a list of the most critical journal articles, book chapters, videos, groups etc on the same subject?
I’m willing to pay a monthly subscription of a $100 or so.
    2) I should ask if this kind of AI assistant even exists yet? And if so, are there different kinds of AI assistants – for example academic experts, sports médecine experts, etc – or is it basically the same AI assistant tech can do all subjects and needs?

  2. But…what is the point? Is there an applicable benefit that manifests dramatic, significant improvement either in ability to accomplish anything or have others perceive you favorably?
Becoming calm in this way (I mean, that's all this really is) should be worth it in terms of measurable positive change. And I don't mean, anyone's agreement that it's helpful to each in a unique way. What is this actually supposed to accomplish to make it worth the 9 minutes that could be spent doing any of a number of things which are more productive and satisfying because they produce verifiable results?
This just seems silly, especially coming from a neurologist. It's almost like freaking prayer. How weird. Sam's trippin'.

  3. I muted this, and blacked out the screen, and closed my eyes. It was much more effective! How can you be lost in thought while listening to the audio of someone else's thoughts? I think ear plugs would work even better, no app required. Does this give you free will or reduce the free will you already have relinquishing it to Sam Harris?
$19.99 a month app to feed your mind with thoughts to not think about, brilliant marketing.

  4. GPT-4 has a way to go but when it gains mindfulness I'd be astonished to hear Sam suggest it "crossed" whatever it may have for legs etc. Listen, I don't doubt many people gain something worthwhile in their lives, but I see no requirement for everyone entering one of these states.

  5. Focusing on the pause in the middle of the breath kept my focus IN the breath.
very nice voice and very calming. I had many distressing dreams last night and now my nerves feel settled. Thank you.

  6. Excellent!. Complementary to this would be "Mahamritunjaya mantra – Sacred Sounds Choir". Listen to it for 5 min per day for at least two weeks and dive into the Source of All, Sat-Chit-Ananda, the "One" of Plotinus, The Tao. Or, simply Pure Consciousness-In-Itself. Enjoy the Bliss.
