Wave-Particle Duality – Part 1

013 – Wave-Particle Duality – Part 1

In this video Paul Andersen explains the wave-particle duality discovered by scientists. In certain situations particles (like electrons and photons) display wave like properties. This phenomenon can best be explored using the double slit experiment. Small particles follow the rules of quantum mechanics creating results that are not very intuitive.

  1. Someone PLEASE explain to me how you fire a SINGLE electron at a time? This is impossible, surely? Ergo the conclusions in the video are not valid!!!!!

  2. ‘Duality’ is code for they don’t have a clue what’s going on.
More likely a displacement effect in the ether.
Scary how generation after another repeat the same nonsense they were taught.
The university is the biggest threat to understanding and a rigid defender of the status wuo.

  3. It was not helpful because I'm not taking a class in this or anything. I have no idea what to do with this information. I only watched this out of curiosity.

  4. Newton-Einstein duality? Ray tracing-Maxwell duality? No. DeBroglie tells us everything is a wave. Everything. Protons, neutrons, quarks, electrons – all waves. Sometimes a particle model helps our puny minds conceptualize, but every measurable thing in the universe is a wave.

  5. Could we see some kind of evidence that photons and electrons revert to particle-like behavior when they are being observed? Or some kind of at-home experiment to show that the double-alit experiment isn't just particles bumping into each other? It seems unintuitive that roughly a hundred years ago, we had the capability to send, receive, monitor, and record the actions of a single solitary electron.

  6. It is showing you that something else is coming through with the particles, called the ether. The ether makes the interference pattern. The particles just go straight through. When you try to "observe" the particles coming through with another energy source, you change the focus of the ether's interference pattern and it disappears.

  7. For a different, simple, physically logical understanding of the results of particle 2 slit experiments, you can view my video: "Particle 2 Slit Experiments Explained By Paul Marostica". To find my videos you can search: matter theory marostica.

  8. Instead of a device to know through which slit the particle went through, they should maybe isolate each path to the screen. You would have two cylinders from each holes to the wall. The particles can still go through one or another, but we would be able to track which one as they hit the wall or the sides of the cylinder.

  9. After reading Feynman's lecture on this topic, it's nice to see the same thing illustrated here. Of course, in a written text – several pages at least – a lot more is explained about what is meant by "observing" the particle…

  10. it's funny to me how it's always described as the world of the "very small" or microscopic… as if the macroscopic world isn't governed by it.  The whole universe is governed by it… it's just that due to statistical effects of ker-trillions of waves there are certain approximations available at the macroscopic level, SOMETIMES.

Normal macroscopic-level substance showing quantum strangeness… glass.  Normal macroscopic-level substance showing quantum effects… EVERYTHING.

  11. As destructive interference effectively cancels out two waves, does the same apply to particles such as electrons? I am still yet to find an answer to what happens to the energy of two photons during destructive interference given in layman terms 🙂
