This video showcases staff and students from the Salish Language Immersion Program, recipients of an ANA Esther Martinez Immersion grant. The program has been in existence for approximately 19 years. Its goal is to build and create fluent speakers and to create the future elders of the tribe so that the language and the culture is not forgotten. Over the course of the project, the children have shown great excitement in learning, and their teachers and parents have seen improvements in their behaviors.
