  2. Fully understanble…but then I think back when I was forced to learn Spanish back in high school and one word had about 8 different ways to say it in present term, another for the past and also the future, and another whole bunch of ways to say the same word for other situations.

  3. i recently started delving into japanese and its been insane to try to learn the about 200 different letters/symbols/diacritics/combinations. but what makes it even harder is to try learning all of those using only 26 (entirely different) english letters as a starting point for understanding. so instead of flat out learning how these couple hundred parts of words work and sound. i have to figure out in my head a way to translate them and then learn them and then re translate to learn what im actually saying. its been one of the most alienated feeling things ive tried to do. but with all that said it helps me look back into learning english and realize how actually messed up the language is in how its rules and leniencies ever work out in the end at all. not to mention the daunting but invigorating fact that the japanese language has over double the amount of vocab in its language to skyrocket the potential for learning.

  5. I know it should have been only for fun, but English itself is phonologically consistent. It's the writing system that isn't
