Why can't you go faster than light?

Fermilab

One of the most counterintuitive facts of our universe is that you can’t go faster than the speed of light. From this single observation arise all of the mind-bending behaviors of special relativity. But why is this so? In this in-depth video, Fermilab’s Dr. Don Lincoln explains the real reason that you can’t go faster than the speed of light. It will blow your mind.

  1. Boss : You're late
    Employee : I'm not!!
Boss : It's 2 hrs past work hours!!
Employee : sir, were you sitting at the same place since past 2 hours??
    Boss : yes… So?
    Employee : there you go… 😂😂😂

  2. Technically, while sitting in our butts, we are moving with the galaxy and our space is expanding as well. But, if our space is expanding, why don't our molecules separate and we explode? Something to ponder. In the mean-"time", let's make sure Trumpanzees do not ban science.

  3. Physics Professor: There's a speed limit. Nothing can go faster than light.
Entangled particles at opposite ends of the universe: What's a speed limit?

  4. In our present day knowledge this is true but as we all know, new understanding is met with ridicule and you are treated as a heretic. But if you can travel 1000's of light years in 1 minute Earth time you have essentially exceeded the speed of light. If worm holes turn out to be a reality then the paradigm of physics is changed. Now the technologies involved are not yet understood by mankind …. yet. There are other "beings" who are beyond this limitation.

  5. Well, even when we sit we move through spacetime with incredible speed. First we move around the Earth. Then we move around the Sun. Then we spiral towards the center of Milky Way. Then our galaxy moves with other galaxies. And our cluster of galaxies moves in its own way in regard of other clusters, and so on and on, and in the end whole Universe expands.

For every motion I mentioned speeds are immense. So the way we experience time is slower, much slower, than if we were really at a fixed point in the Universe, right? Thanks God then we move with such high speed through spacetime or we'd get old much, much faster.

And there is one crazy idea — perhaps everything in Universe is shrinking at a constant speed, an that is at the speed of light. Thus gravity is a by-product of that shrinking.

  6. Why can't you go faster than light? Well, I know its a lame excuse but my '97 Honda Civic didn't come with hyper drive.
