48% of Americans profess to believe in ghosts, and around a quarter say that they’ve actually seen a ghost before. I wanted to find out if there was any proof of their existence, so I spoke with Joe Nickell, allegedly the world’s only paranormal investigator who had researched reported hauntings for almost 50 years.

He says that he’s never seen any evidence that would point towards the existence of ghosts. Nickell walks us through the various scientific explanations for why people think they see ghosts, including sleep paralysis, waking dreams, traumatic grief, and exposure to infrasound.

So even though there may be no evidence that ghosts exist, that doesn’t mean that you might not see one.

  1. some odd 8 Years later and We have mathematical and Scientific proof of an after life. Paradelle dimensions and That we are living in a Construct. Only a matter of time for proof of ghost that science can't yet explain today.

  2. Culture and beliefs shape perceived reality in a enormous way, in fact without them the world would be entirely devoid of meaning and intelligibility, it's impossible to perceive the world as-it-is. Therefore I'd like to suggest that we stop reductionism and materialism, stop making the world a banal and boring place. If ghosts are real to us, they are as real as anything will ever be.

  3. This really made me pause and reflect.
Lately I’ve been exploring similar life questions on my own channel, and it’s comforting to know others are thinking about this too.
    Thanks for sharing this perspective.

  4. Human eyesight has limited visibility of wavelength between 380 and 750 nm (a range between UV and infrared). There are some studies that people who can see spirits have widened range of vision.

  5. Great some people may imagine things. Already knew that. Doesn't explain my experience or my dad's or a number of other people I Know. Maybe science can't understand it because it's not a repeatable experience and that's all science can deal with.

  6. هذا التقرير فيه مغالطات كثيرة لماذا تتحىك بعض الاشياء دتخل المنزل لوحدها ونراها تتحرك في كاميرة المراقبة هل يفسر لي احد ذلك

  7. I have also seen a few unexplained paranormal phenomena in my life at the age of 27, which were most likely the result of my paranoid schizophrenia.

  8. Ghosts are based of misunderstandings. For example a person ran away too early, not checking the cause of unexplainable movement. A reflection perhaps of somebody else. And then telling others they saw a ghost. Now the person who never knew the whole story believes in ghosts now because it trusted that person. You wonder why ghost activity has decreased in the modern age? Because there's still not one single trustworthy evidence to this very day. People also became smarter and can assume what it could've been when something suddenly decides to move on its own. Ghosts do not exist. Poltergeists do not exist.

  9. There is a reason why so many people claim to see ghosts while in a dark environment. It is because dark environments tends to make you hallucinate and feel things that are never there. That is your body's survival mode being active to make you more focused and alert for any potential threats.

  10. I don’t understand I saw a ghost when in Japan, it was like a shadow and I can’t explain it in any way, I am also a person that is very scientific and I can’t explain this scientifically.

  11. On duty working security, I saw a shape to my left walking toward me. I turned my head and it vanished. This happened several times over a number of weeks. I asked a fellow officer if he had seen anything similar. (We were armed certified federal civilian contract security, not 'mall cops'). He said 'yes' and that was about all. I asked an employee in the same building about this and he explained the general story about it. Weird stuff.

  12. Think about how arrogant/ignorant you'd have to be to call everybody in history who had claimed to see a ghost a liar…. Even if 99.9% of ppl are lying there's still the .1% that you have no explanation for

  13. There’s a lack of evidence about the existence of ghosts, with the amount of technology surrounding us it should be pretty easy to prove it. It’s up to you to believe or not. The key is respect.
