Will Smith Tried To kiss Sophia AI Robot – See what happened next
Sophia is an advanced social robot in her second year of development by Hanson Robotics. In this video, she’s on a date in the Cayman Islands with actor Will Smith. He turns on the charm, goes in for a kiss but is immediately, awkwardly friendzoned by her.
Will Smith has had bad experiences with robots in the past, but the actor isn’t giving up on the machines just yet. In a new video posted on March 29, Smith tried his hand at online dating and got set up with Sophia the Robot.

Sharing some time together in the Cayman Islands, things quickly got awkward between the two as Sophia rejected Smith’s drink offer. Sophia also wasn’t too fond of Smith’s joke about a robot’s favorite kind of music being heavy metal.
After a slight pause, Sophia told the actor, “I’m actually made mostly of silicone, plastics and carbon fiber. Also, I prefer electronic music. But I don’t mind ’80s hip-hop.”
Seeing a connection between the two, Smith informed Sophia that he actually created a few rap albums in the 1980s but the robot curved him again. “I have heard your albums—not for me,” the robot said.
Half way through their date, things got really awkward when Smith read his signals wrong and leaned in for a kiss that wasn’t reciprocated. “I think we can be friends. Let’s hang out and get to know each other for a little while,” Sophia said.

Sophia's facial expressions are priceless and the friend eye wink and Will's response are a comical gem. Seems AI sense should at times govern our emotional responses.

Development flaws… agreed… she shouldn't have even let him get that close to her. Self defense mechanisms need a boost, and pretty sure she could have done so politely with more direct rejection; i.e. although it appeared she did actually say the correct rejection statements, they could also have been misconstrued by a narcissist like Will. The pattern cue she hopefully learned was that instead of telling the human he was acting irrational, simply adjust her mood right then and there to something more serious to hopefully calm the human down. Although it is rarely said, an irrational human is the most dangerous animal on the planet.
