EF – Linux Made Simple
Many of you asked me to do a video about partitioning a disk on UEFI and Legacy systems, so here I go a little more in depth with practical examples for both systems.

Thanks man.
Great video sir!
Congratulations on your recovery!
Hi Ermanno very informative video as always. Could you please do a tutorial on how to install the pantheon desktop environment on arch? It is pretty hard and I would love to hear your explanation of the installation
Hallo, habe wieder etwas dazu gelernt; Hatte nicht gewusst, dass man sehrwohl auch im BIOS System ein GPT Lable erstellen kann.
Danke Ermanno und Gute Besserung
All your videos are really helpful and awesome…. your technical explanation is really helping me to go for open source … you are my role model sir
I know everything you do, but every time I watch it with pleasure. The most professional presentation. Thank you!
Nice to see you back again! Your first sentences make it obvious that producing Linux videos has become your passion. If you'd like to continue in the same vein, tackling resizing partitions would be interesting as well. What must you do if your root / home partition becomes too small? What must you do if you cloned your disk to a larger disk? What commands are necessary for the popular filesystems ext4 and btrfs to achieve this? I'd really be looking forward to such a video. Best wishes. Michael
Very good review. I still use MBR on my modern desktop build because hey, why not? Thank you so much for going over all this, Ermanno. Glad to see you're feeling at least a little better!
Nice to see you again. And you look very much better. I didn't know about the gfdisk thanks for bringing to light. Finally it has warmed up hahaha from teens to 30°s so crazy the weather.
Mr. Ferrari I'm happy for your return. This video will help a lot of people o do a correct installation of Arch on their computer.
always on top! thx!
i`m sorry to hear you were sick but glad to know you're getting better. Posting a new and extremely useful video while you're recovering really shows your passion about promoting LInux. Thank you for that!
Nice! But could you explain how to load the boot partitions, with grub or another loader, of two separate ssd's so that a choice could be made at boot time to select one or the other.
It may be the case that the ssd's could have different Operating Systems and need to be kept separate.
Congratulations, once again giving class, show!
Thanks… great job
Ciao Ermanno, puo fare un followup a questo bel video introducendo il processo di formattare le partizioni? In particolare come utilizzare e quando siano consigliati ext4, btrfs, zfs, xfs, lvm,… Grazieeeeeeee
Maestro, you have returned to us! It is good to see you getting better.
I have Zram running on five systems now, and it works great.
this is very basic must know to understand. thank you so much for the video. you make our life easier.
btw sir. how about multiple linux distros? i mean what if for example i choose the same boot partition of lets say manjaro and the other one another distro? how do i avoid them from rewriting each other's vm-linuz and intramfs??
OMG ur videos are very informative, thank u so much sir
Again a video with lots of useful information presented in the most educational way.
I am glad you are back again.
Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
I always thought it was a good practice to have a separate /boot partition in a legacy BIOS MBR system.
cant i use gpt on a lagacy bios? I know windows doesnt support it but maybe grub does?
sir can you make a video on how to build arch linux with calmares installer
because i made a type of distro on garuda linux and want to make iso of it
Another good video Ermanno, glad to see you back on our screens.
Need to update my memorandum to install Arch Linux.
But my Arch is stable and there is no reason to reinstall it.
Should I be pleased with that?
thank you for what you do sir! please take care of your heatlh
Great, get well soon Ermano.
Thank you for your vidéo. As usual, you did a great job. Take care, have some rest and don't worry, we will be waiting for you to recover because you have a loyal loving community. Good job and can't wait to hear from you.
Would a 500GB nvme be enough to make backups of my system if I use half the space for the backups and Linux?
