Knowledge systems consist of three elements. The first is the domain expert, the second is the knowledge engineer and the third is the intelligent agent.
Knowledge engineering starts with the domain expert who is a lawyer, a linguist, an aerospace engineer or a musician.
The domain expert informs the knowledge engineer who is a software engineer and interprets the knowledge and translates it into code. The knowledge engineer creates the agent or the agents.
