An MIT Community Vigil (full event)

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

On June 2, 2020, the Institute Community and Equity Office at MIT hosted an online vigil to bring the community together in the wake of the recent tragic killings of African American people across the United States — including the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery (Glynn County, GA, February 23), Breonna Taylor (Louisville, March 13) and George Floyd (Minneapolis, May 25) — and the protests that have followed. Student leaders, faculty and staff led the community in prayer and reflection.

Our mission is to advance knowledge; to educate students in science, engineering, technology, humanities and social sciences; and to tackle the most pressing problems facing the world today. We are a community of hands-on problem-solvers in love with fundamental science and eager to make the world a better place.

The MIT YouTube channel features videos about all types of MIT research, including the robot cheetah, LIGO, gravitational waves, mathematics, and bombardier beetles, as well as videos on origami, time capsules, and other aspects of life and culture on the MIT campus. Our goal is to open the doors of MIT and bring the Institute to the world through video.

  1. David Dorn and Patrick Underwood where murdered by criminal looters, looters masquerading as protesters. Yet BLM say nothing to denounce that horrific act.
Instead they martyr a person who thought nothing of fraudulently and forcibly entering a pregnant woman’s house, they held a gun to her abdomen while he and four other criminals rob her home 🏡 and yet no denouncement

  2. First of all, I pray for the repose of George Perry Floyd and offer my condolences to his family.
Wrong state power must be corrected, and looting/violence/fire prevention is a crime.
The state should think of the people, and the people should love the nation.
We must live by peace and equality in every way. Of course it should have no discrimination or prejudice.
That is the answer to his noble sacrifice, and our task left behind.

    Please.
