    Infact im pretty sure theirs nothing happening with china but good things…..

  7. there are so many talents in States also lot of efforts. now it is time to deploy simple ai practices on various industry like ai on medical esp x ray picture reading. China had wide usage on finance banking health care security retail ect. the solution is only single domain solutions which li kaufu named. there is more requirements on multiple domain s ai expected. let wait to see

  8. Chinese people 'see' their government as grand fathers like a member of their family, because ultimately they are NOT politicians but head of a clan with responsibility to make sure all is well.

    In the West, people see their government as politicians tries to convince it's people they're the best choice to make things work better than they were. THAT…is a massive difference, one is growing, learn from it's own mistakes, become more and more conscious while the latter is either continue with it's own selfish agenda or fighting the opposing parties instead of making changes to give people a better environment and a better life.

    Our world is never lacking in abundance, what's lacking is consciousness and the will to share the worlds abundance/resources. Instead of competing, humanity need to get past competition mindset and to build a paradise on earth as this is the only home we got.

  9. Some of the AI technologies are already in use. One thing is Chinese people are really open to embrace new technology that brings their lives easier, especially the younger generation, it's actually a way to show off themselves.

  13. Took a long time say not much. The Chinese government throws a lot of money at AI but the system is so corrupt we'll never know where the money ends up. US has AI departments in every university plus private research plus government research plus every tech company is doing some kind of AI development. I believe China will lead the field in various forms of narrow AI. ML and DL, using massive static data, are good at this. Some real innovation will be required to break into AGI and ASI. Current Chinese culture is much too restrictive to allow for real "outside the box" thinking. Plus China cheats a lot. My money's on China to be the first to come up with fake AGI. Just like the fake military hardware they trot out for every big parade.

  14. China invested huge amounts in AI R&D and it people , while US invest in war assets and bombs to kills or bully its competitors !!! So how do you expect US to match with China !!! No way !!!

  15. The important question, and the 'elephant in the room' is not so much the technology itself, but how it will be used; for good or for evil? My concern is that it is and will be used for what's called 'Technology Enhanced Authoritarianism'. When it's controlled by an authoritarian leader and linked to the surveillance state, and a totally digital currency, it can and will be used to control the countries citizens. George Orwell's dystopian novel '1984' is becoming real before our eyes. Ask the question: Who sets the criteria for what is good and bad behaviour in society. We only need to see how criticism of the government is punished now to get the idea of how these technologies will be used. It's terrifying!

  19. Can't agree. it's a system enginering rather than build a road, lots of aspects. It involves sub area like education system, commercial model, etc. So far the AI theory is still leaded by US, the main frame work is still provided by US company. Especially the open society of coding like github is not so easy to be achieved in one night. China has a long way to go. It's even harder than chips for China to catch up in my point of view.

  22. Agree with you about the number of chines engineer but you don't understand how the US their research and achieve greater resolve. You are miss inform. In the US we use something called government initiative to achieve the impossible. Examples: brian initiative, exaflop supercomputer initiative, quantum computer initiative….the list can go on and on. In the US we are very diverse, with different cultures, that comes with new ideas and perspective to solve problems. Yes, China has the number but in the US we have the people, the cultures( good soil ) and an abundance of new ideas to solve problems.

  23. Chatbots are software programs that are present in our messaging apps to perform different tasks. How about having a Bot that tracks our daily expenses and prevents unnecessary spending? It sounds amazing, right? Fintech companies have already started their path towards this trend. As Bots can be programmed for virtually anything, it would be possible for financial service organizations to build a financial advisor, broker, investment manager, and virtually any other bot. The concerns of the West regarding the prospect of China obtaining controlling dominance in any essential technology such as AI (or hypersonic missiles, stealth technology, etc..), are well founded and reasonable: as a single-party totalitarian dictatorship with a fundamental political philosophy without respect for human rights, freedom of speech, religion, democracy, universal suffrage or other liberal values, China (or, more precisely, the Chinese Communist Party) represents an existential threat to freedom and democracy throughout the whole world.

  29. One thing missing, Chinese immigrants in US dedicated their skill to help innovate usually doesn't earn what they should compare to counterpart of their White colleagues. Worst, credits usually gone to their colleague as well. That's one of the motivation to have those brains flow back to China one timing is right with recruit job offers in China.

  34. Yes China is winning the AI development against the US. It's quite simply how. US puts their money in the war machine and China invests in human centered programs to uplift and help humanity at home and abroad.

  36. Most Americans and Westerners as a whole cannot comprehend a world where they are not on the top. But in reality times have changed alot. West need to let go off their arrogance and adapt to a new multipolar world. Because the rest of the world can move on without them.

  37. AI in China is making life easier and more convenient for all.
    SHOPPING: Pay with or WITHOUT a phone (just stand in front of a scanner to have your face scanned).
    MANUFACTURING: Automatic manufacturing by robotic AI machinery.
    PUBLIC SAFETY: Facial recognition cameras make for safety on the street and parks (In the West, parks have to close early to prevent mugging, robbing and rapes.)
    TRAFFIC TICKETS: Driving offenders get their tickets automatically send to their phones (no need for policemen on the roads to give you a ticket.)
    INTERNET OF THINGS: Huawei is leading into this with their Harmony OS connecting every conceivable devices in the future.
    ELECTRIC AND SELF-DRIVING VEHICLES: China R & D in this area is extensive, with their AI intensive usage.
    INTERNET MARKETING: Here again, AI is helping to put China in the forefront, with even smaller farmers and retailer in remote regions selling their produce on the internet.
    5G USAGE: 5G together with AI are unbeatable combination—and China is leading the way in their usage, from agriculture, to fish farming, to mining by remote control.
    HEALTH CARE: Medical detection and diagnosis by AI scanners, surgery by remote 5G machinery.
    ETC. ETC. ETC. China is unstoppable. USA will be hard put to match China's future advancement in many engineering fields of development. The important difference to note is China's advancement is driven by INDIGENOUS talents, while a lot of USA"s advancement is driven by IMMIGRANT talents (which is slowing down as education is getting too expensive in USA, both for foreigners and locals…. whereas China is producing STEM graduates in ever increasing quantity as well as quality).

Very interesting, US is making the world a dangerous place, Trump is a dictator, but really he’s not the problem, America is , it is definately a rogue state, that now it’s on the downward spiral, is becoming more dangerous by the day. The yanks have really taken exceptionalism to where now they actually believe that they are, they are so arrogant and don’t see anything wrong with their arrogance because they think they are worthy of the arrogant description. I don’t really understand AI, but I know how important it is, I think that if the yanks won that battle, the yanks themselves would turn that arrogance into total domination. How could you employ a hitman to be a top diplomat, Pence is so ignorant, that’s why I love the Chinese so much, humbleness. They exude respect for everyone, until they show you you’re not worthy of it.China’s relationship with Russia I firmly believe is the hope of the world, if something happen to estrange them, and I don’t think it will, we’ll be left with a maniac country, that doesn’t recognise there’s a problem
