How to combine Art and Theory with the Dutch Art Institute

CDCYA is receiving two alumni from the Dutch Art Institute to talk about the relation between art and theory. Mirjam Linschooten and Sonia Kazovsky will present themselves, their work and their education at the Dutch Art Institute. They will introduce the key ideas of the program while telling about how the institution has influenced their practice as artists and critical thinkers. Altogether, we will question the role of theory in art education and wonder about the work it generates. How are theory and art practice combined in our academy? What type of works does the combination create? How is theory studied? Is it rewarding or rather limiting?
