  1. I've got a question Jordan. I hope to pursue a bachelor in Computational linguistics, but I have left highschool maths since 10 years ago. Would it be possible to enter the course still, as ultimately I would like to pursue my phd and career in the machine and human language learning field. I appreciate your advice a lot as I've been having thoughts about this for a long time. Thank you very much Jordan.

  2. Hi, good day! I would just like to ask, what would be the best way to do when developing an application that will determine the syntactic structure of a particular foreign language?

  3. hi Jordan,
I am Shagun Gupta from India.
I have now started studying computational linguistics. I have a background of engineering and linguistics. kindly let me know if you have any active computational linguistics classes and sessions with students online.

  4. At 50:33, instead of finding P(B>3), shouldn't we find P(A>3)? Although both would give the same probability, it would be correct to have P(B+A = 6 ∩ A>3) / P(A>3) according to the conditional probability.

  5. Hey Jordan,
I just started studying Computational Linguistics at Saarland University in Germany after a year Computer Science. Very helpful videos, thank you!

  6. Thanks for posting your course notes. I have been following them for a while and as someone who has only used interwebs and arxiv to understand the material, it has been invaluable to know how you paraphrase the concepts in intuitive ways, something you don't find so much in writing (because by the time a paper ends up on arxiv, the informal language is all gone). This comment is not about this video, just a general comment for your channel in general.

And by the way, 5 late days is an amazing idea. I wish my profs gave us that 😅
