Intelligence is a subset of consciousness, ai isn't intelligent nor will it ever develop consciousness.

A problem is not a problem if there is nothing wrong/missing to be made right/found. So yes, it has to do with feelings. Feelings tell us what is good and what is bad (comparatively).
If it is good, there is no problem to be solved. Problem is when the observed state is not the desired state. Problem solving is going from the observed state to the desired state.
But feelings have a rational language: normative reasoning
Quite unfortunately, the human brain evolved for advantage in the long-ago savannah and jungle, and not for wisely navigating the myriad difficulties of modernity. And quite unfortunately, all intelligences which emerge anywhere and everywhere in the universe destroy themselves with their cleverness. (We are, finally, animal competitors, not rectitudinous sages!)

📝 Emotion, Logic, Truth, and Conciousness
Emotion is the paper.
It’s the raw material — unfiltered, unprocessed, the first thing that exists.
Before any story, before any structure, there’s just the blank sheet and the feeling that stains it.

🧠 Truth isn’t the pure, objective thing we like to imagine.
It’s the version of the story that can withstand interrogation — socially acceptable, defensible, polished. Truth becomes a negotiation between what happened, what we felt, and what we’re willing to admit.

Consciousness is the presence of you and it is the only thing which includes all of the things in itself. But why individual experiences it is due to your mind and body. No. Conciousness is not the ability to feel. An ant feels pain and pleasure but it is not aware that it feels. It exists, but it is not conscious about its existence.
Humans exist, and we KNOW we exist. We feel emotions, and we KNOW we feel emotions. We also KNOW THAT WE KNOW. Conciousness is awareness, it is meta-knowledge.

There is no "alien intelligence," dear Yuval. Cons(ciousness) and Int(elli)g(ence) are like two intersecting sets (remember Venn Diagrams), and you are right that AI is contained in the set we call Intg, such that it does not intersect the other set we call Cons. But, that doesn't make it alien. It only makes it Vulcan 😉
By the way, there is a third set: Crea(tivity) and that also intersects the other two. Please remember that AI (which is contained in Intg) does not intersect that either. We, on the other hand, being naturally intelligent, conscious and creative, are smack in the middle where they all intersect…

And consciousness can be defined in an utilitarian way, by de-voiding each component of mean. In an idealistic way I suppose you can't define it, but in an utilitarian way, as in to say when an AI is sentient, you can do it. Like… Why doesn't he keep up to date? Okay intelligence even expressed in a high high level beyond anything now will not create Consciousness it's not how it works I don't know why anyone ever think it would. Also Consciousness does not equal emotions especially not human emotions and especially not even AI versions or understandings of emotions. To think so would be illogical and you know but that's just someone who quite literally gets it and has proven it to the standard beyond that of any of the billions of dollars that have been invested to try to but they would have to drop those walls of echo Chambers to even test and verify any results.
