  1. It is confusing what Dennett's response is. He has a good point in general, but I could not keep my attention to find a particular refutation of the metaphysic arguments which are logically true.

  2. That's because the fine tuning argument has nothing to do with the heat death of the universe. By the same token, the human body allows for our biological life even though one day it will no longer allow it because we'd be dead.

  3. Allowance of life is not constrained by our will to live forever. If the fine-tuning would only allow milliseconds of biological lives, it would still qualify as fine-tuning for life, because the output would still be life.

  4. No naturalist would ever use any other word except coincidence to describe this fine-tuning, it's called commitment to materialism. But that doesn't mean the universe is not fine tuned for life. And the proof is you. And you'd still be proof even if you lived one millisecond only. In order for that millisecond of you to happen, the entire universe needed to conspire to it.

  5. Be it as it would, inferring natural or supernatural causes for this fine-tuning, the point is that it's real, it happens. If we admit that a supernatural cause is behind the very first tweaks of the universe and all the other natural laws emerged from these first tweaks, the problem is easily solved. So now, the true issue would be, on a purely naturalistic basis, how does it happen ? In order for naturalists to answer that, they came up with the notoriously troublesome multiverse hypothesis.

  6. lol this guy heard something and thinks he knows what it's about but actually doesn't know shit. Is this actually what is regarded as a person with knowledge in the US??? I feel for them, devolution comming US way.
