Oh boy I can tell you this needs “MAJOR” regulating. This, once it’s perfected, could cause so much havoc it’s not even funny. No. It’s down right terrifying the potential misuses this technology affords. Blame someone for a crime and have “audio” of them incriminating themselves. Use it to unlock people’s voice passwords. Use it to fool security and sensors or to create Fake News, etc. etc. etc. This is one of those technologies where society needs to have a major discussion on who owns it and for what it can be used for as well as how to counter it.

I think this deepfake technology has a lot room for abuse, so the government should make regulation in this field. I think that without regulation by the government, any images or videos cannot be trusted and society will become a chaos.
