According to GitHub, their Copilot application is an artificial intelligence pair programmer that “helps you write code faster and with less work”.
GitHub Copilot is a Visual Studio Code extension that generates code based on either a docstring, comment or function name.
In simpler words, you can write comments to describe the functionality you want, and the extension generates the appropriate code for you.

GitHub Copilot needs an accurate description of the task. Creating an organized and accurate description of a problem is called programming. We don't need to worry yet. 😂
I don't know think it replaces developer but It will reduce the team size in project which in turn decreases jobs.

I think that's very helpful and it's amazing improvements in the career. But companies doesn't start new tools/technologies at the moment directly, it takes time to adapt or even use new feature of the framework/tools. There's still companies who has legacy code in the app etc.
Also, I think it's important point that no one wants just a coder, they want a problem solver, team player and other skills is very important too such as communication skills. But of course if there's many people working in same field that get decrease and AI will help to reduce the costs. That's very important topic you mentioned, will the code generated by it will used blindly. Well if it's gonna used blindly we wouldn't find solution ourselves and just copy paste code from the internet right ? That doesn't mean so much difference to me. On the other hand, these tools gonna make development lot easier and faster. I think it's gonna make developers life easier. Like in the video steps were algorithm to create server, it did the small tasks.
