For those of you wondering how the hairdresser knew that the client's name was Lisa – I edited out some of the original conversation to save time (though now I see how it could be seen as confusing). In the original conversation, the hairdresser asked who the appointment was for and what kind of haircut they wanted, to which duplex replied "Lisa" and "Just a woman's haircut for now."

I would rather pay a human, imperfect as WE are, so that people have jobs, and a living, a lives. If we remove so many jobs, then life as a whole is not going to be fun with so many people in poverty.

It says that no one understands how they work. That's not true. You can actually model the neurons and check how the ideas are forming in the artificial mind, layer by layer. They are just complex.
This jobs thing is not a good argument. As AI advance, human beings will adapt to even higher tasks.

This is the uncanny valley. Can’t believe we’re here already.
Not yet impressed, they didn’t demoed in on the event itself. If its reall, they should’ve demoed it in front of the audience.
Imagine not having to wade through automated answering systems menus just to make an appointment or no more sitting on endless hold (listening to crappy music) waiting for your call to answered by an agent. This changes everything.
This is low-key creepy as hell.
Personally I disagree with this technology. Humans are becoming anti social and introvert. People should be calling others and enjoying another’s voice and interaction. It’s are HUMAN NATURE to conversation and be involved with one another. Tech is going to far and needs to be regulated and look at as a tool rather than a necessity. Are you using it, or is it using you? Sit back and take that into perspective.
Your voice should be added to Google Assistant. It would be so satisfying.
