Gravity affects. Earth by warping space and slowing down time — time runs slower in high gravitational fields than in weak ones, according to Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity. The difference on Earth is very tiny, but for the first time, it’s been measured by putting atomic clocks on fictitious mountaintops and valleys and measuring the difference in the flow of time between the two.
Physicists have now managed to measure this difference in the time it takes light to traverse a millimeter — which sounds easy, but it is extremely hard!
In this video, I discuss the fascinating experiment and the results of a paper posted earlier this month to the scientific preprint server arxiv.org, where researchers from the lab of Jun Ye, a physicist at JILA in Boulder, Colorado, measured the difference in the flow of time between the top and the bottom of a millimeter-high cloud of atoms.
The work is an important milestone (millimeter stone?) toward studying gravity’s intersection with quantum mechanics, two theories that are notoriously incompatible.

so I do not want to start any argument with somebody who has a PhD in physics
but gravity is not warping anything
curved world line in st continuum is gravity
people tend to say "gravity is causing time dilation"
einstein says "time dilation is gravity"
like there is no gravity at all according to einstein, everything is the effect of a "curved spacetime" [since inertial motion is not real in the universe since everything is in a state of acceleration – inertial motion, too]
people also tend to think curved spacetime means always mass, and it's always about the gravity and nothing else
einstein says "any energy, any energy density and any type of pressure are all curving the geodesics"
photons inside the stars are blocking from the procedure of implosion, the radiation pressure is curving spacetime
Those guys doing this clocks are going to gives an insane number of breakthroughs in the coming years, there is an interview to the guy in charge and he said they are just scratching the surface of how precise they can make those clocks.
I haven't watched the video yet no one knows why time slows down near mass; it might've been Merlin the Wizard for all we know so this title is undoubtedly clickbait…

I think it would be great to watch a video on exactly how those optical clocks operated. It's briefly mentioned in this video, but I think it could be a great well of content to tap.
Several months ago I read a series in Ars Technica entitled "A curious observer’s guide to quantum mechanics," and one of the articles in that series discussed the optical clock. It was mind-blowing. I wanted more. But I've found it's very difficult to get more information on the technology that is accessible to a layperson yet not dumbed down to meaningless metaphor. Any interest from you? 🙂
Very good. “Waveform’s diffuse properties”. Better defining the terminology. The next refinement is … just how diffuse is a single photon’s wave form?. It certainly isn’t fully spherical as is the common depiction of a “waveform” else shooting a photo in one direction could cause it to be “detected” in the completely opposite direction. So what is the range of uncertainty of a single photon?
Getting down to the atomic level every atom bends space and time proportional to its size due to the field energy it imparts to the Higgs Field from its nucleus, so the direction of a photon passing by an atom will be altered by the field influence or the photon will be absorbed. Ie gravity (matter field effect) works at the micro level as well as the macro.
The gravitational field of our planet Earth extends forever outward despite its field strength weakening over distances further and further away. Additionally, as we stand on the surface of the Earth, we are 1G accelerating observers, observing inward coming light from the celestial realm, light that bends in its approach. Thus, as we pear ever further and further away, it makes sense that we observe greater and greater redshifted wavelength frequencies. Not because the objects are accelerating away from us faster and faster, but because we are observing time ticking relativistically slower and slower over those greater and greater outward distances.

SCIENCE IS MAGIC THAT'S REAL. Then you know for sure this is some crook trying to sell something unreal.
First of all all that is slowed is the movement of the atoms in the device used to measure time not time itself. I believe gravity is just a form of electromagnetic static through some form of friction between at least two objects with mass derived from the matter it is made of and one of the two objects must be in motion. So mass by itself cannot cause gravity. Now if you have a single object with all matter in a perfect vacuum of theoretical space and you moved it would it show signs of gravity or will gravity only present itself when in the presence of matter separate from your object of matter
I can easily refute the claim that gravity warps time. They are using only a single type of clock to attain their measurement and their conclusion. They are using atomic clocks that work off of radioactive decay. When they send the atomic clocks to outer space, the clocks speed up. However, I can send a sand clock/gravity clock/hourglass up into space and the measurement will show that time is actually slowing down and is slowing down much more than what the atomic clock shows it is speeding up. So, if one clock shows that sending it to outer space increases the rate of time by a small amount, and another type of clock shows that time is actually decreasing by a massive amount, time cannot be both increasing and decreasing its rate at the same location. In essence, it is only the process that is being measured that is changing its rate and not time itself. In order for time itself to change its rate, all processes, every single one of them would have to have decreasing or increasing rate of change. That is not what is happening at all. All of this nonsense is based of of their violation of the scientific method, which requires a control for experimentation. There is no control for their experiment, so their conclusions are erroneous and erroneously extrapolated into an altering of time itself instead of the process that is being used to measure time.
"Gravity Warps Time" and 20th Century Physics – are a product of trading fossil fuels by what's called supply and demand, not on the basis they are finite…

Gravity modifies apparent time because the density of space is greater in gravitational field. There are more Planck per visual arc and since light propagates at one Planck length per Planck second if the Planck are smaller it seems to move more slowly.
This is why Einstein toyed w variable speed of light. Instead it's variable density space.
"But space is a vacuum! How can it have any density?".
Energy density. Gravity can be seen as a set of directed energy vectors in space and this energy density is spatial density.
An, increase in density increases refraction. Higher energy photons having a higher energy density themselves are more affected by gravity and low energy photons having low energy density are less affected.
Isn't it amazing that relatively simple laws of physics produce insanely complicated experimentalists that produce insanely complicated apparatuses and then reduce the observed complexity of the world back to the laws of physics?

Fascinating. Finally some hope and a possible bridge from relativity to quantum. We need more wins like this and I hope the momentum keeps going. Reminds me alot like the so called time crytals existing in dual states without taking in energy from the laser light.
And I believe asking whether or not gravity will be quantized is the wrong question. Perhaps frequency exists beyond the Planck scale, and we should quantize time as a force which delegates frequency.

Mabe if the Pharoah of the 6th dynasty Exodus had one of these clocks Moses could have simply told him 'at midnight' (the actuality) instead of 'about midnight'(to not give Pharoah a pretext to self fool when his leading science of the day time keeping was flawed enough to mistakenly conclude it was not 'at midnight'.
