  1. Boils down to: truth, more responsibility, selflessness. Remember "Man's Search For Meaning" by V. Franken and "Maps of Meaning" and "12 Rules For Life – An Antidote To Chaos" by J. Peterson. classics, all.

  2. the experiment with the random number generator was on a tv series on the BBC called Heratics. It was approx 1994/5 I think. Anyway I remember seeing that episode and being very impressed. It was a research student who suggested the study, to a very senior physics researcher. The results of the random number generator were displayed on the screen, and there were two groups, a control group, who were sat in the room but just reading a book and another group activity willing the display in a particular direction. They found a small (no where near as small as some of the numbers in the physics experiment) but significant effect, which was apparently repeatable, even when using balls falling in a stocastic manner, where the observers where able to influence it's skew.

  3. “The Bushmen in the Kalahari Desert talk about the two "hungers". There is the Great Hunger and there is the Little Hunger. The Little Hunger wants food for the belly; but the Great Hunger, the greatest hunger of all, is the hunger for meaning…
There is ultimately only one thing that makes human beings deeply and profoundly bitter, and that is to have thrust upon them a life without meaning.
There is nothing wrong in searching for happiness. But of far more comfort to the soul is something greater than happiness or unhappiness, and that is meaning. Because meaning transfigures all. Once what you are doing has for you meaning, it is irrelevant whether you're happy or unhappy. You are content – you are not alone in your Spirit – you belong.”
