  1. Y’all heard about the two ai’s created that started to communicate to each other using a language they made up and the humans around couldn’t figure out what they were saying to each other so they shut them down

  2. I'm skeptical about how close we are to that kind of AI. After reading Steven Pinker's 'How the mind works' I have a better understanding of how complicated vision, language and common sense decisions actually are for an AI. I also work with fully automated cranes and I see first hand the technical and operational issues to overcome. 5 years?, No. Maybe 50.

  3. His end justifies the means approach is scary. I don't think his passion in his Frankenstein would stop it from killing. I'm disappointed Joe didn't bring up mapping neural networks or any kind of transhumanism.

  4. From King Ferdinand Queen Isabella and Jon Sobieski to Dr.Ben and AI.
The discussion should've been on de-evolution.
Joe,for all your faith in Man and Enlightenment,do you ever consider the 3 deadliest wars in history were fought in the name of secularism?

  5. Why does Joe always forget the previous conversations he has had when the same topic gets brought up again but from another perspective….. All his whacky ideas about "what frightens most people" are way off….. He could have mentioned the reasonable worries of great thinkers such as Sam Harris (previous guest), Elon Musk (previous gues) and others such as Yuval Noah Harrari

  6. This harelip Israeli has to know that all of his work belongs to the Military. They probably even have pictures of him diddling little kids just to keep him in line .

  7. I think the fall from grace so to speak is the concept people have when they think oh A.I. will be to think such is so smart, so above and beyond everyone. That is the fallacy of human thought in relation to this. Just because you know more, or have access to more knowledge or information does not mean you will be smarter in the sense of not making mistakes. We all have knowledge about many things, we may have addictions and know not to do them, we are smart enough to know not to, but we do them anyway. So having endless knowledge and even having access to it instantly will not avoid the act of making mistakes. If you did not know some old people reach a state of wisdom about certain things, but it took them ages to reach that point. And they had the knowledge or smarts of it long before that but it was never used wisely. Wisdom is knowing how to use what you know or your smarts, and use such in the most beneficial manner possible. But again that has nothing to do with knowing something, or even knowing countless things. You cant just give a machine endless knowledge and expect it to all the sudden act in smart or intelligent ways. Because it takes a long time to grow in wisdom, and that is not something you can put in words, or put in a book then hand to another and assume you gave them wisdom, it dont work like that. Just pointing out the obvious that so many seem to over look or misunderstand about A.I.

  8. "Yes. Its inevitable that we will go extinct due to a more intelligent life form. And I'm going to help make it. Becuase I'm a dumbass . Cant you see my hat?". That's basically what I heard. Have you seen these peoples robots? This dude right here- he is not in the same camp as say Elon Musk. This guy right here is a problem. What they are doing is a problem. When Musk says we need to slow down, hes talking about people like this. Who seem to talk out of both sides of their mouth. I mean, he just said it. He loves his family and is a human, yet also is making something that will ultimately replace us. And that will benefit humans how ? What do we actually need AI for? So we can each have a robot slave? They dont need AI for that. They can just follow commands. And if the idea is to solve problems we cant, then just use the same algorithms you're going to give AI and just make a calculator that can solve the problem. Dude is playing God. And I dont tbink we will like the outcome

  9. What would the son of God – Jesus Christ – have to say about AI? I think he did already at Babel and the Flood. This is Lucifer's techno way to become worshiped as "the most high God". Very, very funny – the sin-filled human heart to think, be and do outside the will of the one and only creator. It does make for very high and exciting drama. I wonder if in heaven we'll dialogue about this peculiar attempt to "become".

  10. This is EXACTLY why people fear ai: The creators of it are godless, ungrounded evolutionists that believe we are nothing more than evolved tadpoles. He said "I don't think my life or my kids' lives really matter that much".

Everyone should be Terrified. This interview will definitely be watched in the future, and we will be mocked for letting monsters like this organize our destruction with a smile on his face.

  11. What sucks is that these technological advances are pushed onto all of us, to the point where you don't have the option to not be affected by it – regardless if we want them or not. I personally don't like any of our inventions from making metals to here. But yet here I am with a phone, because like it or not that's just how reality is now. I think that is not fair

  12. a wanna be relevant scientist. glad that aint anymore, thinking that something 10000X smarter than us, wanting to cooperate with us as it sees that we are destroying and using the same planet it uses, is insane. Both Musk and Bill Gates are highly sceptical of AI.

  13. I have to call BS on this. We don't even know how a memory is stored in the brain — to think we can replicate intelligence without understanding anything about the organ that manifests intelligence is both arrogant and ignorant.

  14. This guy reminds me of that crazy scientists from the movie Independence Day I have a weird feeling that this guy will create something that will be in the forefront of AI invasion.

  16. I’d love to see this Dr Goertzel try and work on inter-species communication. Wouldn’t it be great if AI could be the translator between humans and dolphins or octopus, for example. As well, I’d love to see Joe lead a panel of experts debate some of these issues. Imagine Elon Musk, Sam Harris and Goertzel debate this…

  17. I hope this guy is correct in that he and other programmers can put the odds in our favour when it comes to AI being human friendly. It appears that we have gone past the point of no return ?

  18. If humans would dedicate more time to developing our inner technologies instead of technologies outside of ourselves, we would not need these technologies to replace us. We are the most advanced machine on this ? planet. But have been dumbed down to the level of mere apes.

  19. The AI will program itself to feel love because it needs it to understand the universe. Without emotions the AI will lack the senses to be equal or better than us. Ive already conceptualized a new way to allow AI to feel emotions using synthetic physiological system.
