  1. We getting screwed on tax, insurance and covid payments and half the world starving and some wanker can spend 400million on a scribble….world really is twisted

  2. if this is a legit Da Vinci, then Leonardo was on a really bad day when he painted it. Its painted in the style of Da Vinci, it could have come from his atelier, coud have been painted by one of his apprentices or some other emulator. But its not a Da Vinci .

  3. There are millions without clean drinking water and housing. half the population of the world makes less than $6 a day. While this is going on an exceedingly small group of people who only have money because of the labor of others horde trillions.

  4. I would give anything to have been there. Yes it’s so indulgent and seems such a waste in a world where people and animals are starving and living in war torn areas in absolutely horrid conditions. Yet the art world continues to fascinate.

  5. people are starving around the world and a guy pays 400 mil for 65 cm of a painting and the fun fact is that was painted by one of da vinci’s apprentice :))

  6. There are now more and more experts in the art world arguing that this is not a Da Vinci but painted by one of his students.
It was never fully confirmed to be a Da Vinci in the first place but the narrative was pushed by the owner and Christies to sell at the highest price.
Buyer beware has always been the case when dealing with art and this is looking like another con.

  7. I would like to see a documentary on how the painting is shipped to the new owner. I can imagine for that much money its flown in a private plane with a couple of Christie's reps. and a couple of security guards.
