(25 Jun 2021) A robot has predicted the winner of EURO-2020 and, according to the artificial intelligence, France will be coming out on top.
Developers have used classifiers based on a combination of different neural networks, the most famous of which is the GPT-3 neural network, which was presented a few months ago by Elon Musk.
Predictions are being made using methods currently used by bookmakers to analyse sports data and huge amounts of uploaded data.
The neural networks analysed tens of thousands of records, around 10 gigabytes worth.
This included match sheets, line-up combinations, injuries and even the location of matches from the last five European Championships.
The French national team are the current world champions who took the title in Russia in 2018.
According to the developers, the forecast is 93% accurate. 100% is not-achievable as the unpredictability of life also has to be factored in.
The Promobot company was founded in 2015 in Perm, Russia, and is currently the biggest developer of service robots in Europe.
Its robots work in 42 countries as administrators, promoters, consultants, guides and concierges, replacing or supplementing “live” employees.
