17. Why are we here? That's not the question. How are we here? That is the question. Science can potentially reason out the how but why is outside the scope of science. Why implies a purpose or reason for our or anythings existence. There's no reason to assume there is a why.

18. Why do we assume there should have been equal quantities of matter/antimatter at the explosion of the big bang? Why do we assume time began at the big bang? Are we even sure sure the big bang is happened? I know it is currently the most popular hypothesis but is it conclusive? Are we assuming everything in our observable universe is everything in the entire universe? It seems to me that everything we know about the universe is from observing a tiny spot within it with our limited technologies. I'm no scientist but I wouldn't assume we could understand the ocean by learning all we could from a drop of salt water. What if the big bang is an explosion sending all we can observe out from a single point in every direction, but what if that explosion is was like a stone hitting a pond and our observable universe is just a wedge of that expanding ripple. Outside that ripple things could be still or rapidly expanding in another direction from some other explosion. We don't know what we don't know.
