Philosophy of Education in the Semiotics of Charles Peirce by Alin Olteanu

Dr John Tredinnick-Rowe

This is a short book review of Alin Olteanu’s work: Philosophy of Education in the Semiotics of Charles Peirce: A Cosmology of Learning and Loving, published by Peter Lang in 2015. Dr Olteanu is, as the director of the international semiotics institute once said about him, one of the most gifted semioticians of his generation. And I think this book reflects that.

I think the book is excellent, I give it a 5* rating. It might be a challenge if you don’t have some background knowledge about semiotics, but throwing yourself into it with an open mind is a good way to gain said knowledge! .
