What college do you go to? I have a feeling its George Fox U. Who ever did this video, I am love in love with this person. Amazing. Simple great!
Maybe I'm missing something, but standing their listing "signs"… not all of which can, or indeed do "signify" being a student does not really constitute the semiotics of being a student. Unless you're intention is to parody semiotics of course, in which case it was either too subtle, or too simplistic to work [for me].
Oh well.. you gave yourself a wedgy at the end 🙂

I like how you're responding with a topic that's so relevant to many of those who would be watching Martha R's video today, and some of the items you use are quite brilliant. My criticism is that some of her motions don't seem very believable (much better toward the end, though), it doesn't have a very clear message as MR's did, and the bloopers at the end take away from the piece. I also agree with DrHaldirJones that it's perhaps a little too close. In general, though, nice work! 🙂
Is anyone else bothered that the keys and other small materials like that weren't thrown? Just a suggestion.
Funny parody! I am going to view it as a good art/theory joke and not try to find a whole lot more in it… I especially enjoyed R for roommate.

i think it's a good homage but at the same time there's nothing new to this or exciting. you basically copied and pasted her video but replaced knives with laptops and egg beaters with booze. her video was a parody your's is not.
@MARDELROONEY it's not supposed to be a parody… it was simply inspired by Rosler's video.
Rosler's video worked because she found a unique way of expressing resentment at the gender role forced on women. No one forces students to go to college. If you don't like the semiotics of college life, you can drop out. And copying Rosler means that this video is not unique, either. I'm not sure what's being expressed. If you don't want to be "retrained," then don't participate. You aren't being oppressed.
