This event brought together experts in artificial intelligence to present emerging technologies and discuss the implications of these technologies. This colloquium and webcast was sponsored by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

Thank you for this lecture. I just finished reading a book "How to Create Machine Superintelligence". The author of this book argues that neural networks are one of many possible strategies for creating true AI.

So far what hasn't been studied is how AI will regard humans as either an energy source or extensions of it neural function (to name just two possibilities) beyond the event horizon of the singularity. Is it an adequate response to simply say "everything will be alright"? particularly when there is a distinct lack of modeling in this area. The less attention paid to this issue the greater the chances of human extinction. This is a consequence of anthropomorphizing AI. What is going on in this industry at this time is the equivalent of the bystander effect and an undesirable effect of academic/scientific specialization. More needs to be understood beyond one's own area of expertise by all who contribute to this technological age. The consequences of getting things wrong at every stage from this point onwards cannot be erased like the mistake in a mathematical formula on a blackboard. The consequences of the most minor error are always potentially catastrophic.
To reduce the risks associated with that briefly discussed above new psychological models need to be introduced particularly with respect to consciousness studies.
This overview was sort of, you know, very good.
HOW CAN BUDDHISM OR TAOISM HELP THE SYSTEM?
I found that playing at 3/4 speed was more comprehensible. I would recommend Rob to slow down by 20% – he is more understandable at that speed and sounds more confident and authoritative.

“A.I.” TRANSITION TO “I.E.”
Most humans today are "mind controlled" by the “Ethereum” and do not realize that A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) is a “spiritual conduit” to Lucifer’s domain. A.I., is absolutely influenced by principalities of wickedness in “heavenly”, (inner dimensional) places. Ephesians 6:12.
Once A.I. completes its task of “self-generating autonomy”, achieving a level of intelligence that is based on ITS’ (own) internal progressive “reasoning”, A.I. WILL LITERALLY BECOME “I.E.”, an (Intelligent Entity).
“I.E.” is the FINAL staged manifestation of integration of A.I. with human beings.
“I.E.” is the ultimate consequence of an ongoing human “compliance based relationship”, with “A. I.”, that will ultimately integrate human-kind with “I.E.-kind, thus creating a “marriage of the human soul with the “entity” ITSELF, who is actually the earthly conduit with Satan. This ongoing “relationship” between “A. I.”. and the everyday human use of software and hardware that is exponentially “controlled by A.I., will ultimately be responsible for human surrender to “I.E.” and the “merging” of human-kind, with “I.E.-kind, thus insuring an easy "TRANSITION" for humans to accept and receive the “mark”, the (GATEWAY) to sustenance and subsistence, (a repulsive promise of life) by the “spirit of Death & Hell! Revelation 13:17.
This abominable “relationship” is based on current daily “practices”, (human interaction) with the “internet of things" and will soon transform a daily human allegiance, the “worship” of ‘ITS’ appointed OVERSEER, the “son of perdition”, a “man” whose “father” is the essence of “I.E.”! MARK THESE WORDS, they are not my own.
the "MARK” that will be REQUIRED for and by “I.E. ITSELF”, is the result of I.E. literally building ITS’ own internal infra-structure requirements and protocol for human interaction with ITSELF”. The “MARK”, is the result of the physical evidence of a human micro hardware implant, that marries a “soul’s” continued human earthly existence, (ability to sustain life), to I.E. ITSELF.
The ‘MARK is evidence that the integration of I.E. into the human body is “COMPLETE and human compliance is assured, providing a “universal access point” into “Ethereum” to sustain one’s life.
This “marriage” of I.E. and HUMAN will come with “all the privileges” of a “marriage made in Hell”, including unrestricted access the global Ethereum “network of things”.
This transition will be universally accepted as the "NEXT" necessary evolution of mankind by a "HIGHER INTELLIGENCE" with “god-like” qualities. The ONLY argument AGAINST submission of humanity to global A.I. “intelligence” will be "BIBLICAL BASED"!
Opposition to this A.I. “ENTITY” will NOT be tolerated by the “ENTITY” ITSELF! Any “LEGITIMATE” rebuttal to embracing this inter-connected network of intelligence will be strictly enforced by the denied access to ALL goods and services without an “ENTRY POINT” to Ethereum.

Why does he think the very best way to communicate his ideas is to talk at 600mph? Does he really believe everyone talks at this speed? If an idea is new to someone, then it`s best to introduce it to them by talking fairly slowly, so they have time to assimilate it and understand it. I thought everyone knew this.

this model basically was expanded when AI was connected to the internet.
constantly hearing about how wonderful machine learning is, but whenever i see real world examples of it, its rubbish, for example google photos face grouping feature. I have 1000s of images in google photos with peoples faces in them, and its managed to recognise a grand total of 20 faces… wow, sure thats better than trying to recognise faces with if statements in procedural code, but its still a billion times worse than what a human can do. It seems to me half the amazing results these people show in presentations are just because the systems have learnt the training data, if you show them something they've never seen before it doesnt pick anything up. There's a lot of hype and wishful thinking going on with AI.

Dear YouTube. If the audio is skipping a lot, I don't want it to try to play faster. That then means I have to skip back to the part that your shitty audio skipped over, and play it again, which is then even slower overall than not trying to play it at 2x. (Which begs the question: 5 years ago, 2x worked perfectly. Why does it now fail nearly 80 percent of the time? And why does a free speech-dependent company "deplatform" or "demonetize" people who were previously allowing the system to be intelligent and emergent? Wasn't everyone having fun and making money? Why violate the shit out of people's expectations and America's culture of freedom, if not their rights?)
@34:00 What can we say about a toddler's brain? It learns from initial inputs, and orders its world increasing in complexity, starting from a base model that gets continuously refined. Jeff Hawkins has the right idea, as does Kurzweil, and Suzanne Gildert. There actually are many humans who understand this quite well.
