don't be afraid of your third eye opening although it is scary to experience what your soul can do when it forgets it's stuck in this shell
Been dissociative since a child and now maladaptive daydream as a result so… 💅
We feel like ghosts
I have this. A panic attack at work triggered this. The color left my vision for 20 seconds and I told my boss I had to go home for the first time. I was baffled by how different street signs and my hands looked. Still kinda have it
😢 disassociation😢 i’ve been this way forever. I’m not quite sure when it began, but I’m hoping and praying that this knowledge will help me.😢😢😢
So if you are a man and you think your a woman is that considered mental illness
I had a stroke 5 years ago and I'm still recovering from it but everything I need to do is impossible for me to even talk to someone about what I need to do and I'll probably end up homeless and I don't want to freeze to death during the winter
Dame I never new this is what I've been going through I feel like this a majority of the time since a small kid an have almost no memory of my child hood expect for a bunch of bad things but my grandkids were my best memories always 😭😭😭❤️
fuck i think I've dissociated a few times in the past
I get it at work .
I've realised I am extremely bored ..
I'm tired of participating
My whole life !
My therapist tells me its a sign of low intelligence and immaturity
I've been dissociated since 5 years old. At 11 years old I watched from above my body, watching myself try to take my life. I don't know how to come back. I try to do grounding but i can't grasp it. I've woken up 3 times and because of all the years gone by or not being used to being awake i go back in. How do I come out? My psychologist? The one that gives meds says this is new territory for her so i don't know anymore. I've been trying so hard for 45 years. I'm tired of trying.
Does anyone know what methods to adopt to deal with this? Ive tried various methods and have reached a better position. It feels like some of the final pieces are missing. If anyone can please help me out that would be great!!!
I only experience this when someone I’m close to dies . It’s happened every time . It almost feels like there is a bubble of some sort around me . Sounds are even somewhat different . It’s like every single sense is buffered . It only comes after the extreme Intense emotions of grief rip through and keep going … then I go somewhere in my head and sort of watch
My dissociation began in infancy and therefore was my brain's baseline reality and I never knew anything different 😢
Does the two personalities polar opposite to the other ?
As a kid I would do this often in gym class when I would become over stimulated. I would feel like I was just wandering aimlessly about (floaty and bouncy) and everything sounded muffled like I was under water. No, I didn’t use recreational drugs.
Later as an adult I would suffer from mouth sores that were unbearable. I could purposely sit, relax, and mentally pull myself out of my physical body. That way I wasn’t feeling the pain myself. I was watching myself feel the pain.
Come as you are as yiu were as she wants yiu to be. But youre not. That way. So sge majes up a word for it.
Dissociation. They got a wird for evrryyyhing.
Ya. Sure. We are oot of toich with her resllty and our perceptions are invalid and dismissed What if we are in touch with realities she wint look st nor will our family.
I was my moms caregiver for her last 2 yrs of her life, I was also her Healthcare proxy and POA.
I held her hand as she peacefully took her last breath after 13 days of actively dying.
My dad died suddenly in 2011 and it immediately hit me like a train.
The pain, the black hole, nightmares ect terrified me and I thought it would never go away.
My mom, I went completely numb, at first I was just waiting for it to hit me for more than an hour.
It never came, its been over a year and I finally realized I can talk, remember, smile, look at pictures of my dad but with my mom, months ago I packed up her pictures and put them in the basement.
Apparently my brain decided remembering my mom, is just to painful.
That I've not only gone emotionally numb but also physically numb and was unaware of it even until about a week ago when I had a dream with her in it and emotionally and physically felt her again.
Which woke me up and I immediately thought "how did I forgot, why have I forgotten, why not with my dad and how do I come back.
I don't know if this is a sign that I am or not but I'm hoping it continues because I don't know who I am anymore and want to feel again.
When I disassociated and I have done it to varying degrees throughout life, the worst time was when my ex husband said he wanted to work on our marriage and I was being abused in multiple ways, I caught him cheating right after he said that. So I blacked out completely.
My default mode since childhood..
😢
does anyone else ever just have that moment where you kind of forget that you were living being on this earth you could just realize for a second oh I’m a person I look like this and i’m living on earth with a life😂
Ive dealt with this after surviving getting shot at, I just pretend life is a video game
some memories i have i can only remember from 3rd person perspective, live watching a movie. I'm lookign at a closed door but can feel everything in the room
I have done this my whole life. I used to be in class as a child and feel like I was floating above myself in class. I think it might have been anxiety related, so I certainly wasn't focused on school.
As I have come to find out, common in PTSD.
Could this be caused by Autism?
I stare at nothing with no thoughts of feeling or anything as if a didn’t exist
Is it a bad thing? Feels new to me and feels weird. Please reply, i need a couple of conversation.
exactly what happens to me thanks for visualizing such suffering
It happens when I’m overwhelmed I think and I get confused in the moment but after that I really want to go back. Hasn’t happened in a while tho and also the way I find out what it was was because of my maths teacher because I told her how I was feeling so ye 🥹 xx
I felt like I was going to float out of my body it scared me so much I had a severe panic attack, worst feeling ever
Maybe you're about to pop out. Astral projection. I think dissociation is energetic. Your energy body comes out of your physical body for a bit. Sometimes it comes all the way out, sometimes just a little. Ive done this since i was a child. I do it consciously. I think there is more to it than what we've been lead to believe. As with EVERYTHING else. Sometimes what we perceive to be problems are actually gifts. Its depends on how you want to look at it. If you have zero self awareness, it will look like a mental health issue. We have been so programmed. Think about it. REALLY think about it.
