Cubism is often referred to as one of the most avant-garde and revolutionary art movements of the modern era… but what is Cubist art and who were the Cubists?

The two main artists who were the ‘inventors’ of Cubism in 1907 were France’s Georges Braque and Spain’s Pablo Picasso. Despite the name, neither of these Cubist’s painted cubes. Instead of painting a figure or object from a fixed position they represented it from multiple viewpoints.

  2. I am here from 900 yrs in the future… to stop cubism. Everyone from my time has completely detached from reality. We are trying to see what organic views were like.

  3. I'm sad to see so many comments, obviously from students, slamming this video. The people who made the video are just trying to present a new take on a pretty well covered subject. Not a bad attempt either. Is trashing culture really what's cool today ? Either you guys have a terrible teacher, or something very very special is giving you a better perspective on the complexity of life than art can give you. I wonder…
