  1. My head cannon is one of 2 things, the first being that Reiner is crazy and too stubborn to let his mission fail so easily so he pushed himself to his absolute limit, and the second is that he might have heard from one of the Marleyans that work on titans and stuff that it was possible but had not been attempted due to potential risks etc, so maybe he is the first person crazy or determined enough to try

  2. Well Zeke didn't want to have balls in the first place so why would he transfer his consciousness to them? Pieck and Annie don't either. As for the others is anyone's guess. Eren's titan form is not shown to have balls. Reiner must have trained to maintain them while in his titan form.

  3. I cant understand why one would complicate his shit with bs like that, it vould just make reiner move a little so that he wouldnt get hit on the neck

  4. It is what Armored titan meant to be ..
He is meant to protect his host so he covers the titan with an armour but if the armour somehow breaks , the host still gets a chance to save himself . By transferring the consciousness

  5. In that first scene it's probably not the consciousness shifting ability but just the fact that Titan Shifters can only really be killed by extreme means, stabbing them in the throat and chest means nothing if they can still just turn into a Titan and regenerate. As for the consciousness shifting being plot armour for Reiner I really don't think that was Isayama's intention, he probably had an idea for something that he thought was cool but in execution was kind of ridiculous, if he wrote it just to save Reiner he could have just wrote a different story where Reiner didn't get his head blown up lol

  6. I think it would have been better to introduce this ability more clearly, but imo it makes sense for the armored titan to exclusively have this ability. As the show goes on the armored titan gets consistently outclassed and can be easily beaten by basically every other titan except the Cart. His armour just can't defend against true hardening. Giving the Armoured Titan this ability makes him feel unique and indestructible again, like he felt in early seasons. The ability is on theme and keeps Reiner's transformations from being useless in later seasons.

  7. 1. Levi sliced his throat but didn't sever his neck, that's why he survived. The blades are excellent at paring and slicing, but not buiot to chop, which is why he wasn't beheaded.

    2. IIRC, Bertholdt says it's a very advanced technique, one they only theorized about. The titan does have a fully formed brain, so Reiner was able to use the titan brain as his primary nervous center rather than his own, and let the healing save him. He almost died, so it's not a technique you can practice.

  8. Idk about the first one when Levi impaled him, but for the one where he was hit by thunder spears it makes sense that he survived since, they destroyed his brain, but not the Titan's, meaning he could just transfer his consciousness to the Titan's brain which was untouched
