Elon Musk says we need to regulate AI before it becomes a danger to humanity
Elon Musk’s thoughts on artificial intelligence are pretty well known at this point. He famously compared work on AI to “summoning the demon,” and has warned time and time again that the technology poses an existential risk to humanity. At a gathering of US governors this weekend, he repeated these sentiments, but also stressed something he says is even more important: that governments need to start regulating AI now.

Stephen Hawking AI Warning: Artificial Intelligence Could Destroy Civilization
World-renowned physicist Stephen Hawking has warned that artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to destroy civilization and could be the worst thing that has ever happened to humanity.
Speaking at a technology conference in Lisbon, Portugal, Hawking told attendees that mankind had to find a way to control computers, CNBC reports.
“Computers can, in theory, emulate human intelligence, and exceed it,” he said. “Success in creating effective AI, could be the biggest event in the history of our civilization. Or the worst. We just don’t know. I have studied and researched and fact-checked artificial intelligence (AI) for the last year.
Of course, none of this is brand new…but, I have definitely wondered why… cryptocurrencies, seemed too good to be true (i.e., honest) and why "Saudi Arabia grants citizenship to AI", i.e., Droids & Bots, but not to women.
I have no more questions. The answers are crystal clear.
