Atlas, can you bring me a drink? | Boston Dynamics

Boston Dynamics

Everyone asks if Atlas can bring them a drink, but this robot can bring you the whole fridge. Using AI-driven behaviors, Atlas is doing hard work and coordinating its whole body to manage heavy objects, balancing complex contact points with accuracy and reliability.

  1. This company needs to be shut down before it's too late. Shut down the AI Data Centers and this company. These robots are cute and funny until they become our prison guards in the new open air prison they're building for us. The robots are the armed guards and the AI Data Centers are the prison wardens. Just watch. Maybe not next year but in 10 to 15 years we will wish we could travel back in time and stop all of this madness and get our jobs and freedoms back. None of this will end well. Just look at what social media as done to the world.

  2. My only consolation watching these videos is knowing that when your unholy creations turn on humanity, you will be the first ones taken out just due to proximity.

  3. How is the minifridge powered?… Also… Does this not look eerily fake to anyone else? I know Atlas is real, but this video looks surreal for a few different reasons.

  4. the videos coming from this channel feel more honest than other robotics makers. maybe its the real world audio, or that they have no issues letting us see the little oddities that it has in its movement, like the twitches it has here and there.
i wonder how heavy that fridge actually was. at the very least it is still a large awkward object for it, ill give them that.

  5. Boston Dynamics is majority-owned by the Hyundai Motor Group, which acquired an 80% controlling stake in the robotics company in 2021. The remaining 20% stake is retained by the SoftBank Group.

  6. Now this is impressive. A mini fridge is a step up from 15lbs labor to maybe 40lbs plus. This opens up so many more labor options, especially in moving, warehousing, and even things like landscaping.

Yes I know it’s one specific use case, but it’s still a big step in the right direction.
