LARRY POONS – On Making Art – ART/new york No. 51 by Paul Tschinkel

Paul Tschinkel

Larry Poons was a seminal member of the Color Field painting generation, a major art movement in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Over the years his work, initially cool, evolved into a more and more expressionistic style of painting that brings to mind Jackson Pollack and other great American Masters who worked in a intuitive style. Today, his luscious and visually rich paintings are shown and appreciated widely.
