Swami Sarvapriyananda | Consciousness — The Ultimate Reality | Talks at Google

Talks at Google

Swami Sarvapriyananda explores the core of Advaita (Nonduality), how it is realized, its implications for the quality of our lives and broader implications for modern consciousness studies. The ancient Indian philosophy of Advaita Vedanta holds consciousness, identified with the self, to be the fundamental reality of the universe. The claim is that an intuitive realization of this truth can help us transcend suffering and attain deep fulfillment.

Swami Sarvapriyananda is the Minister of Vedanta Society of New York, a Harvard fellow, monk, philosopher and a popular teacher. He teaches Advaita (Nondual) Vedanta philosophy that expounds the ultimate reality of life, universe and everything. The philosophy is firmly grounded in reasoning and direct experience. He is also well-versed in many other philosophies of the world and was recently offered a fellowship at Harvard. He is an excellent speaker and has spoken at many large forums, including TedX, Science and Nonduality (SAND) conference, and many renowned universities/colleges. He is very popular worldwide and also has a large following on YouTube, as his talks cater well to the scientific intellectual minds and he seamlessly relates ancient wisdom to modern society.

  1. Consciousness! – thanks Swami for taking us through the wonder of consciousness – and while it continues to have the 'aha' moment, the key you have given to open That door is: "Is the SEEN different from the SEER?" to work one's way into the not-two of Vedanta. Thanks for the brilliance of the sun.

  2. Swami ji is just amazing. Ever since I have started listening to him , my life has changed . Thank you Swami ji !!
And also thanks to technology through which I met him . 🙏🙏❤️❤️🙏🙏

  3. It means that we cannot know the ultimate nature of mind, consciousness, self, reality through math, measurement, data or materialistic science, neuroscience, psychology or philosophy of science. This has enormous consequences for living life mindfully and ethically. Non-dualism says entire universe is an appearence within consciousness. Vijnanavada is a school in later Mahayana Buddhism (influenced by Hinduism) and not what Buddha taught. Thank you Swamiji.

  4. I know that may seem a joke, but it's not. 🙂 The consciousness may be related to the "Jedi's force concept" in the sense that it's "something" that "exists" like a background reality that makes possible all of "common realities" be manifested?

  5. Google should also invite ancient Indian home grown religions called bhuddhism, so should invite bhuddhist scholars to also discuss about their position on the explanation of consciousness.

Then you will realise that you have never use your intelligence 😂😂😂

  6. Please invite him and the likes of him instead of false prophets. These monks and nuns are truly learned men and women.

  7. Can Krishna help me too, and get me a $400,000/yr job + stock options? Honestly, all the wisdom and philosophy isnt helping for the quality of my life. I'd prefer the Google job and the money. Thanks Krishna!

  8. Sir there is a story about consciousness explained by Adi Shankarar to an old man who wanted liberty in a simple way. He has given in a shloga. Eka shlogi.
