  1. I used to have a little respect for Dinesh. I think it's almost gone… yep, there it goes.

He comments on the hubris of scientists denying things they can't see. Complete mischaracterization. The goal of science is to remain skeptical about one's current set of beliefs and data. Scientists are perpetual agnostics. Not to mention the hubris of doing precisely the opposite… which is believing in things you can't see. Dinesh, I have a strong urge to slap you.

  2. It's insulting to his god that he'd bring up pascals wager. You'd submit only in fear, and God would KNOW you only submitted in fear, not belief, so you could go into heaven. I feel if he exists, with his wisdom, he would respect that you stood up for your beliefs weather your an atheist or not, yet still did good things, rather then submitting to pressure and putting on a veil of belief for a reward. If any of that makes sense. My 2 cents.

  3. I think I once heard him make a decent argument about a non-religious topic. Can't remember what the topic was atm though.

  4. Dinesh is so fucking right. Why would we not believe in something just because we don't see any evidence for it. I believe there is a crab-headed prostitute around EVERY CORNER and there's NOTHING WRONG WITH ME. Imagine if the cave men had just given up on believing that the sun could shoot fire at them. They never would have built the New York Giant Torch Woman (NYGTW: look it up) or the Pissing Dwarf Gazebo.

Scientists said there were planets outside our solar system until Nibiru got close e

  5. Aargh.. annoying miss representation; Dan and other rational people DO NOT "deny the existence of things for which they have no evidence", they simply "do not believe in them". The difference is subtle but extremely important. One person makes a statement of fact "god exists" you can either believe them, or not. If you do not, you are not saying the inverse "god does not exist" you are saying "I do not believe you when you say god exists because you have not given sufficient evidence"

  6. "you only believe when you don't know" .. pure garbage. Knowledge and belief are not on the same scale as each other and you can have varying amounts of each independent of each other. A rational person's belief will track with their knowledge, an irrational person will believe with little/no knowledge informing that belief. We tend to form beliefs rapidly, this is necessary in some situations which require immediate action, we should then look for knowledge to confirm or refute that belief.

  7. let me add: if pascals wager was a working strategy, you should better pick the religion which has the worst concept of hell. so if you are just pretending, better pretend to be a muslim 😉

  8. Something to fondle your synapses. Free will! What is it? Well let me tell you: the ability to choose beyond whatever you can conceive to be real and turn that prediction into your own internal cognitive creation. So… that being said, Why is it that because I have free will, I cannot play the harp?… Or the clarinet?… or solve advanced quantum probabilistic equations? I could go on forever. This logical approach is obvious: the idea of free will means mind over matter mirrors reality.

  9. in other words, free will is bullshit… or we are ever evolving our escape from the boundaries of will: which more simply put are our own internal options we have access to choose from… which all are subject to change depending on the circumstances or randomness.

  10. I dont know if I can continue to listen to this debate…. Dinesh is so fucking loud ALL THE TIME. Shouting constantly. Maybe he thinks the louder he is the more right he is…

  11. His "beliefs' are his bullshit. This guy's mind is so warped he will never understand reality or rational evidence.Ridiculous. His 'beliefs' make him go on and on or he may make money saying this bullshit that goes on and on and there is no basis for truth in anything he says.I know this fool wrote a book saying how the president hates America and is a muslim.Another of his idiotic 'beliefs' he has no real basis. This guy is a 1st class jerk.

  12. Stop SCREAMIG we can hear you!! (He debates like Hitlear… HERE IS WHAT I THINK! DENNET IS WRONG, I DONT KNOW SIENCE SO IT SUPORTS ME, HILE GOD!)

  13. I don't mean to cast aspersions, but Dinesh is a little weasel, and a yellow-bellied snake in the grass, and a low down dirty double-crossing rat…fink.
